Occupational Therapy Assessments
Assessments help us understand what makes everyday activities difficult and identify practical, personalised recommendations to support you or your child.Â
Â
We look at the person as a whole, understanding your individual needs and goals at home, school, work and in the community.
Occupational Therapy Assessments
Childrens assessmentsÂ

Sensory assessments
Exploring how a child responds to sensory experiences and how these may affect participation in everyday activities, routines, play and learning. Recommendations may include individualised sensory strategies and environmental adjustments.
Functional skills assessments
Looking at how a child manages everyday activities, such as dressing, using cutlery, managing personal care, organising belongings and developing age-appropriate independence.
Fine and gross motor skills
Exploring functional movement skills, coordination and the use of hands during everyday activities, play and learning. Where appropriate, we identify practical activities and strategies to support participation and skill development.
Emotional regulation and participation
Considering how sensory experiences, everyday demands and environmental factors may influence a child's ability to manage activities, routines and transitions. We explore practical approaches to support regulation and engagement.
Home and environmental assessments
Exploring how the home environment, routines and available equipment support a child's everyday needs. Recommendations may include adjustments to the environment, equipment or practical strategies for families.
Advice for parents and carers
Providing individualised recommendations to help parents and carers understand their child's needs and implement practical strategies within everyday routines. Where appropriate and agreed, we may liaise with schools or other professionals.
Adults assessmentsÂ
Functional Assessments

This may include personal care, household tasks, planning and organisation, maintaining routines and engaging in meaningful activities.
Â
Sensory Assessments
Exploring how sensory preferences and sensitivities affect your everyday functioning, including how you experience and respond to different environments. Recommendations may include practical strategies and environmental adjustments to support your needs.
Home Assessments
Assessing how your home environment affects your ability to carry out everyday activities safely and independently. This may include access, moving around your home, using bathroom and kitchen facilities, and identifying barriers to daily living.
Equipment and Home Adaptations
